- “You don't need to see the logo to know what it is.” (speaking about creating a design for a company

This is another poster I made incorporating type and images to display something. the subject of the poster is California's Long Range Fishery, and the design incorporates the type of fish you can catch, which are Yellowfin Tuna, Big Eye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, andYellowtail. The design also showcases some of the finest long range boats of California, but only a few. The boats shown are the Excel, the Polaris Supreme, the Royal Star, and the Intrepid. These boats travel from San Diego California to offshore banks, islands, and floating strings of kelp in Mexican waters. These Long Range trips range from 3-18 days and provide very unique opportunities to catch fish and see sights you don't see unless you are in this prime environment.

Design & typography notes
-fonts are the clothing that our ideas wear
Web Typography
-legibility vs readability
-expressive fonts/type for eye catching readability
-clean serif / sans-serif fonts/ type for smaller body copy
-sans-serif fonts look better at smaller type size
Legibility
-choose classic time-tested typefaces
-sans-serif is better for less pixels due to straight lines
Readability
-all capital letters are the equivalent of shouting and are hard to read
Example:
HELLO Hello
Which sounds better?
Alignment
-left alignment reads easiest, consider eye flow as it moves down a page
Example:
Left Aligned:
@PimpTobi is back with some heat,
peep his new visual for "40 Bars".
The Berkeley factor has been well
established since the drop of his
breakout record "Boss Up”

established since the drop of his
breakout record "Boss Up".
Which is easier to read?
“The Mac is not a Typewriter”
Kerning
-space in between letters in the font
Tracking
-global modification to whole word not individual letters
Large Text Blocks; Rags
-the rag is the right edge of your left centered text
-helps with ease of reading and aesthetics
-effective rags form a pattern
Consistent Spacing
-use consistent letter and word spacing to achieve uniform design

I Love to fish, and one of my favorite ways to do so is to go on a long range open party charter. I created this which is a mock up of a existing charter boat, the Red Rooster III out of San Diego. I made my own personal touches and named it "St. Paddy", a reference to the floating pieces of kelp found offshore that you typically search for while offshore. this is the first of many charter boats that i will be designing during this course.
